Data Use

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Overview

This Data Use notice explains how eSIM Agent uses data to guide eSIM setup, check connection status, troubleshoot mistakes, process purchases, support customers, send requested emails, and help identify roaming-charge risk.

It is a plain-language companion to our Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict, the Privacy Policy controls.

Sign-In and Account Data

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we use your authentication provider ID, app user ID, and any name or email shared by the provider to create, secure, and recover your account.

Guest mode may use an anonymous account so the app can remember setup progress, plan selections, and support context without requiring full sign-in.

eSIM Setup and Verification Data

To guide setup and verify connection, the app may process device model, app version, operating system, country or travel context, selected plan, installation state, activation status, carrier labels where available, selected data line, user-selected home or travel line labels, and roaming-related setup signals.

We use this information to detect likely setup mistakes, explain what changed, and suggest next steps. For example, we may try to tell whether an issue appears related to your phone settings, your primary carrier, the eSIM provider, local network coverage, or an incomplete activation.

Some iOS settings cannot be read directly by apps. When we cannot verify something automatically, we may ask you to confirm a setting or provide a screenshot.

Location and Travel Context

When you allow location access, we may use location or country information while the app is open to suggest relevant plans, detect arrival, show local context, check whether activation can be verified, and determine whether your current setup may create roaming risk.

You can limit location access in iOS Settings, but some verification and travel-specific guidance may be less accurate without it.

Purchases, Support, and Diagnostics

We use purchase, payment-status, and plan records to show your active plans, send receipts, support installation, evaluate refund requests, prevent abuse, and coordinate with eSIM or telecom providers when troubleshooting.

If you contact support, we may use messages, screenshots, photos, videos, timestamps, diagnostics, and order details to understand the issue and help decide whether it appears to be a device/setup issue or a provider/network issue.

Data Calculator and Email

If you request a data estimate on our website, we use your email address, destination if provided, trip length, WiFi expectation, mobile-data profile, laptop-hotspot choice, and estimate result to send the estimate and related travel-data tips.

We may also use calculator or app-update signup information to send eSIM Agent updates, destination-specific tips when available, and product or service updates. We use source page, referrer, campaign fields, browser user agent, and rate-limiting hashes to understand where requests came from and prevent abuse.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not intentionally use your setup data to make unrelated advertising profiles.

We do not control your primary carrier billing. Our checks are designed to reduce risk and guide safer setup, but your carrier may still apply charges based on your plan, settings, usage, and location.
